Where do you actually rank on Google?

Check your real position for any keyword, by country and device — using live, unpersonalised search results rather than what your own browser shows you.

3 checks per day · Cached 24 hours · Searches the top 100 organic results.

Not what your browser shows you

Your own Google results are personalised by location, history and account — and you click your own site more than anyone, which inflates its position for you specifically.

This runs a clean, unpersonalised query for the country and device you pick. It is the position a stranger sees, which is the only one worth acting on.

Read the top 10 too

Your number is only half the story. The pages above you tell you what Google currently believes the query deserves — a comparison, a how-to guide, a product page, a forum thread.

If everything ranking is a 2,000-word guide and you published a 400-word product page, the gap is not authority. It is format.

FAQ

Why does this show a different position than what I see in Google?

Because what you see is personalised and this is not. Google adjusts results based on your location, language, search history and whether you are signed in — and your own site is the one you click most, which pushes it up for you specifically. This tool queries a neutral, unpersonalised result set for the country and device you choose. It is closer to what a stranger sees, which is the number that matters.

What is the difference between position and absolute position?

This tool reports the organic position — count the blue links and that is where you are. Absolute position also counts ads, featured snippets, People Also Ask boxes, image packs and everything else Google inserts. On a busy SERP, organic position 3 can sit halfway down the page. Both numbers are true; the organic one is what people mean when they ask where they rank.

Why is my page not found in the top 100?

Usually one of three things. The page is too new and has not been crawled or indexed yet. The keyword is too competitive for your current authority, so you rank below 100 rather than nowhere. Or you rank in a different country than the one selected — rankings vary enormously by location. Check indexation first, then try a longer, more specific version of the keyword.

Does checking my rankings affect them?

No. Querying the search results has no effect on how any site ranks. Google does not know or care that you looked. This is worth stating plainly because it is a surprisingly common worry.

How often should I check?

Weekly at most, and monthly is usually smarter. Rankings fluctuate daily for reasons that have nothing to do with anything you did — Google tests, personalises and re-evaluates constantly. Checking daily means watching noise and drawing conclusions from it. The direction over a month is the signal; the position on a Tuesday is not.

Why is the free version limited?

Every check queries a live search result set through a paid data provider, so each one costs real money to run. The limits keep the tool free and available rather than drained by automated scraping. Results are cached for 24 hours, so re-checking the same keyword and domain does not use another check.
